Leave of Absence and Withdrawal
Withdrawal from a course
If, for some reason, you decide to withdraw from the course you have registered for, you must inform the course administration (an email to firstname.lastname@example.org is acceptable). Within three weeks after the course has started the registration can be cancelled (also known as early study break). After three weeks a student may request that we register a course as incomplete (study break).
Withdrawal from a program
If you are registered for a program and wish to withdraw from the program you need to make a formal withdrawal or study break through the form linked below. You also need to inform your program coordinator or the Departmental Office.
Leave of absence from a program
If you are registered for a program and wish to take a leave of absence, you may do soo and keep your place on the program if you meet any of the special conditions stated in the Higher Education Ordinance, like parental leave, medical reasons or military service. There is a special form for requesting of leave of absence (one or two semesters at a time) available through the link below.
