The department is lead by a board, with the prefect as chairperson. Among the directors are elected representatives for both employees and students. The board is charged with determining the the department's internal organisation, budget, as well as actions concerning work environment and equality. In addition, it drafts the guidelines for the organization of classes and examinations.
